Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Parsi Calendar ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not download or use the App.

2. Description of Service

Parsi Calendar is a free mobile application for Android (and iOS) that provides:

• A hybrid Parsi (Shenshai, Kadmi, Fasli) and Gregorian calendar
• Personal event management (birthdays, anniversaries, Navjotes, Baj days, custom events)
• Import of device calendar events and contact birthdays for local display
• Optional read-only Google Calendar integration
• Choghadiya (auspicious time) timings and Gah periods, calculated on-device
• Roj meanings, Nirangs, and Salgreh (fire temple anniversary) dates
• Android home screen widgets showing today's Parsi date and upcoming events
• Push notification reminders for events and daily Mah & Roj
• Moon phase display

The App is provided free of charge. All features are currently available to all users.

3. User Accounts

You may create an account using Google Sign-In or an email/password combination. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and not impersonate other individuals. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

You retain full ownership of all events and content you create in the App. By storing content on our servers, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, transmit, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your data and will never share it with third parties for commercial purposes.

5. Device Calendar & Contacts Access

If you grant the App permission to access your device calendar or contacts:

• Calendar and contact birthday data is read in a read-only manner. The App does not write to, modify, or delete any data in your device calendars or contacts.
• Imported data is displayed inside the App and stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers unless you manually edit the imported event within the App and save it as your own app event.
• You can disable calendar and contacts access at any time from your device Settings or from inside the App under Settings → Import Calendars.
• Revoking these permissions will cause the App to stop displaying the imported events; previously imported events will be removed from local storage on the next sync.

6. Google Calendar Integration

If you choose to connect Google Calendar:

• The App requests only the calendar.readonly scope — it can read your events but cannot create, edit, or delete them.
• Your Google OAuth access token is stored securely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
• You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Settings → Import Calendars, which removes the stored token from your device.
• Use of Google Calendar data is also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

7. Location Access

If you grant location permission, it is used solely to calculate Choghadiya and Gah timings. Your location is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party. You may revoke this permission at any time; the App will fall back to a default city (Mumbai) for calculations.

8. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, the App schedules reminders locally on your device for events you have saved and for the daily Mah & Roj alert. You can disable notifications at any time from within the App (Settings → Notifications) or from your device notification settings.

9. Home Screen Widgets

Android home screen widgets display your today's Parsi date and upcoming events. Widget data is sourced from events already stored on your device. No additional network requests are made by widgets.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
• Interfere with the App's servers or infrastructure
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data belonging to other users
• Use automated bots or scripts to interact with the service
• Circumvent any security measures or access controls

11. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and describes in detail what data is collected, how it is used, and how you can control it.

12. Intellectual Property

All App content, design, code, trademarks, Parsi calendar algorithms, and branding — excluding user-generated content — are the exclusive property of Hormaz Innovates. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute them without prior written permission. The Parsi calendar data (Roj names, Mah names, festival dates, Nirangs) is based on traditional Zoroastrian scholarship and is used respectfully for community benefit.

13. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we strive for accuracy in calendar calculations, Choghadiya timings, and religious information, we do not guarantee that Parsi dates, timings, or other computed values are error-free. Always verify important religious dates through authoritative Zoroastrian sources (priests, Anjumans, or official Parsi calendars).

Device calendar and contact birthday imports depend on data already stored on your device. We are not responsible for inaccuracies in data sourced from your device or third-party calendar providers.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hormaz Innovates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, including but not limited to loss of data, missed events, or reliance on calendar calculations. Some jurisdictions do not allow such exclusions, so these limitations may not apply to you.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. You may delete your account via the App's Settings screen or through our account deletion page. Upon account deletion, all your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance. For material changes, we will notify users via the App or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of Mumbai, India, to the extent permitted by law.
